Top issues during term (8)(Environment)
Environmental Soil Contamination & Redevelopment Transparency
Negligible direct city cost, as developers already perform environmental due diligence for private financing.
Section 721 Forest Conservation Code Updates
Will increase developer costs and adjust city fee-in-lieu collections to better reflect actual planting expenses.
Climate and Energy Action Plan (CEAP)
Aims to leverage state and federal funding for green infrastructure and energy efficiency.
water line replacement
It's a federal loan, so it's funded with borrowed money that will eventually need to be repaid, but it stops the constant waste of money on endless patchwork repairs.
Annual Sustainability Report and Program Progress
Grant funding and staff resources continue to support various sustainability initiatives across the city.
Bee City USA Affiliation and Pollinator Protection
Minimal impact, integrated into existing sustainability department operations and volunteer efforts.
water pollution
Local taxpayers could end up footing the bill for expensive fines and urgent plant upgrades.
water quality report
You won't have to waste money buying bottled water or expensive filtration systems since what's coming out of the tap is already good to go.
